School Social Work
-
The role of the Omaha Public Schools School Social Worker is to be the link between the student, home, school, and community by providing direct and indirect services to students, families, and school staff to promote and support students’ academic, social and emotional success.
School social workers are trained mental health professionals who can assist with mental health concerns, positive behavioral support, and classroom support. They bring unique knowledge and skills to the school setting by consulting with teachers, parents and administrators as well as providing individual and group counseling.
