We know proper nutrition is important for the growth and development of children, and well-nourished students are better able to focus and learn in the classroom. School meals are an important part of students' well-being. Our nutrition services staff also offers healthy meal programs to introduce students to a wide variety of foods and develop lifelong healthy habits.

Starting in 2022-23, Omaha Public Schools will serve meals at no charge to enrolled students. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has approved the use of the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), which allows local school districts to provide no-cost meals to all enrolled students for the duration of the 2024-25 school year.
