Healthy Kids Do Better In School

  • Several options for insurance and health care are available for Omaha Public Schools students.

Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) provides free and low-cost health care coverage for children of families who meet income eligibility. Quality Coverage, Comprehensive Benefits – Coverage is affordable, and high quality.  CHIP covers a wide range of benefits, including regular preventive care check-ups, immunizations, treatment for illness/injury, doctor and dental visits, vision screenings, prescriptions and more. Apply online! If you have questions regarding eligibility, call 1-855-632-7633. School Based Health Center Staff (SCHC) can assist with the application process.

Student Accident Insurance is offered by K&K Insurance Group to ensure reliable coverage is available. If you don’t have other insurance, this plan may be a resource to consider. Additionally, even if you have other coverage, this plan can help fill expensive “gaps” caused by deductibles and co-pays. Coverage may be purchased at any time during the school year by visiting the K&K Insurance Group website.
