Hello Castelar Families,

We are Becky Tierney and Caitlin Sheley, the School Counselors that will be serving the students and families at Castelar for the school year. We are proud to be part of such an amazing school that motivates and supports our students and families. Below is some information about what school counselors do. We are looking forward to another great year!

Using the American School Counselor Association’s (ASCA) data-informed framework, the school counseling team at Castelar plans and implements a comprehensive, school wide program that is preventative in nature and aligned with our school and district improvement goals, mission, and vision. As school counselors, we prioritize fostering positive relationships with students and supporting each student's academic achievement, career readiness, and social/emotional development. Committed advocates for all students, our goal is to ensure that every student is prepared for their future.
