About Chandler View Elementary

  • The future of the world is inside this school! The Chandler View staff, families,and community are committed to making Chandler View a positive place for students to learn and grow each day. In addition to the regular classroom instruction, children have a number of resources available to meet individual academic and social/emotional needs; a Reading Interventionist, the Gifted and Talented program, Special Education, EL, Guidance and Counseling, as well as after-school clubs and Chorus.  We are also proud to be participants in the Disney Musicals in Schools program in collaboration with the Omaha Performing Arts.

Chandler View History

  • Opening Chandler View opened at the current location in February of 1969. It cost $555,000 to build the original building.
  • First Principal Mrs, Karen Burmood was the first principal at Chandler View.
  • 1969 Enrollment When Chandler View opened in 1969, there were 10 teachers and 402 students.
  • Blue Ribbon School In 2009, Chandler View was awarded the distinction of "Blue Ribbon School" by then U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan.
  • Remodel Construction on an addition to Chandler View began in 2000. The addition, which more than doubled the size of the school, cost $5.5 million dollars and was completed in the Fall of 2002.
  • Principals Current Chandler View Elementary principal, Mrs. Angie Jones, is the 6th principal to serve Chandler View since it's opening in 1969.
