Sarah H. Joslyn Elementary School is located at 11220 Blondo Street. Joslyn Elementary School opened on January 26, 1976.   A library media center is located near the center of building. The student body consists of children in pre-kindergarten through the fifth grade. Current enrollment is over 320 students. Along with the regular instructional curriculum, additional supports for our students include resource, speech, English Language Learners and Early Childhood Special Education.  The school vision is "Every Student, Every Day, Prepared for Success."  The school mission is to challenge each student to reach his or her full potential to reach success every day in a safe, productive, learning environment, while respecting others, doing their best, and helping others. Open communication between the home and school plays a strong role in accomplishing this mission. Joslyn school also boasts an active and supportive PTO and family network that provides additional financial and volunteer supports for the Joslyn students.

Sarah H. Joslyn School, the home of the Joslyn Jaguars, opened its doors on January 26, 1976. Sarah Joslyn and her husband, George Joslyn, were prominent citizens of early Omaha. Their home, called the Joslyn Castle, once housed the adminstrative offices of the Omaha Public Schools. Mrs. Joslyn also donated the funds for the Joslyn Museum in honor of her husband.  The Joslyn Family loved and donated their time and money to helping positively the Omaha Community.

Joslyn was renovated from an open concept school starting in 2017.  Joslyn also was so fortunate to have a 6 classroom addition added as part of the OPS school bond.  

The Joslyn attendance area is mainly north of Blondo Street. The area directly across from the school is now designated as our attendance area. This includes the Oakbrook subdivision and the Vanderbilt apartments. Our west boundary is 132nd Street north to Maple, with the exception of the Eagle Run subdivision. Maple Street is the north boundary; 108th Street is our east boundary.
Joslyn School has grades pre-kindergarten through fifth grade. In addition, we have one classroom of Early Childhood Special Education for 3 to 4 year olds. We are excited to offer All Day Kindergarten. Joslyn School is indeed a wonderful place to learn & filled with great learning opportunities.
