After School Tutoring
Tutoring is available after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:15-5:15 in the library. Students do not need to sign-up before attending, but they will be expected to sign-in when they arrive and out when they leave.
If a student rides the bus, they will need to sign up for the late bus in the AP Office by 1:00 that day or have an alternate ride home.
Students are expected to be working at tables with tutors -- it is not a study hall. The TWA (Transportation Waiting Area) is available in the cafeteria for students who don't need additional help and/or are done with tutoring and need to wait for a ride.
Regular school rules apply:
- Food & drink is not allowed in the library
- Passes are required when leaving the library for the Teen Center or other classrooms
- Appropriate wearing of masks (over the nose) is expected
Tutors are available for the following subjects:
- Social Studies
The Teen Center is a unique collaborative effort of St. Luke UMC, Burke High School, Nebraska Methodist College and numerous community partners. We promote opportunity for students through intentional afterschool programming that provides education, exposure, and mentorship. Our programming includes academic assistance, post-secondary preparedness, health and wellness, alumni support services, and family support services.
