Apply for Free and Reduced Meals or Educational Benefits
This summer, we notified our families that many of our schools will continue to provide students with lunch at no cost, regardless of income, through the USDA Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). See the full list of qualifying schools.
All other schools will transition to the traditional National School Lunch Program (NSLP), where families can complete a Free and Reduced Meal Application to qualify for meals and additional benefits. See the list of affected schools here.
We encourage all families to apply for benefits, regardless of their school’s designation.
Benefits may include:
- Discounted home internet services
- Discounted or waived fees for SAT, PSAT, ACT, AP and other academic tests
- Waived or reduced college application and course fees
- Scholarships
- Access to career, internship and other community programs
Log in to SchoolCafe and click “Apply for Benefits.” The system will provide you with either the Educational Benefits Form for CEP-qualifying schools or the Free and Reduced Meal Application for schools participating in NSLP.
It only takes a few minutes to complete if you have your household income details handy. One application covers all students in your household. Families can complete an application at any time if their household information has changed.
If you have already applied for benefits through SchoolCafe, you can check your eligibility status on your account dashboard.
Please contact your student’s school if you need assistance with your application.
