Dr. Meribeth Jackson, Program Director
Dr. Jackson began her career in education in Omaha Public Schools as a paraprofessional at Pinewood Elementary. During that time, she has worked as an Elementary Teacher, Middle School Math, Resource and BSP teacher. Her administrative experience includes time at UNO as the Director of Disability Services from 2011 through 2014. She returned to OPS in the fall of 2014 as a Special Education Supervisor for Hearing Impairment, Visual Impairment and the Homebound Program. She joined the staff of ILP as an Assistant Program Director in the fall of 2019. She began as the Program Director in the fall of 2023. She is grateful for all the students, staff and families that continue to teach her new and surprising things every day.

Dr. Tracie Nicolai, Assistant Program Director
Dr. Tracie Nicolai has practiced as a school psychologist since 2011 and brings experience from three other school districts in Nebraska and Iowa. She served in OPS at Central High School, Beveridge Middle School, and Franklin Elementary.
She has over twenty years of teaching criminal justice and psychology classes in various college-level settings in the Omaha area.
Dr. Nicolai is excited to build a collaborative administrative team to support students, staff, and families in her new role at ILP. She supports our students with last names that end in A-K.

Mrs. Michelle Vaughan, Assistant Program Director
Mrs. Vaughan began her career in education with Omaha Public Schools in August 2008. She started at Morton Magnet Middle as a Resource Teacher for five years, a Language Arts Teacher for two years and Math Teacher for three years. She then became a Resource Teacher at Davis Middle School for four years and at Northwest High School for three years. She was hired to be an Assistant Program Director at ILP in the Fall of 2025. She is looking forward to this opportunity and excited to work with students at ILP to help them reach their fullest potential.
