Ms. Kristina McLaughin

The Belle Ryan mission statement is “To foster a positive learning community where all are inspired to grow and reach their full potential”. Through her role as Instructional Facilitator, she tries to impact this everyday by collaborating with teachers, students and parents to ensure student success here at Belle Ryan. Ms. McLaughlin's role is very diverse. She coordinates school-wide assessment, serves as the SAT (Student Assistance Team) coordinator for academic and behavior intervention programs, collaborates with our teachers to continuously improve our classroom culture, curriculum instruction and assessment practices. But Ms. McLaughlin's favorite part of her job is getting to build relationships with students both in and out of the classroom to help them develop a love for learning.

Ms. McLaughlin taught for almost 15 years in 1st, 2nd, 5th and 6th grades. She has been at Belle Ryan since 2015, first teaching 5th grade and then moving to Instructional Facilitator in 2020. Ms. McLaughlin holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology, a certificate in Business Administration as well as a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from Creighton University. Mrs. Michaela Martin

Mrs. Martin started working at Belle Ryan Elementary in 2022. Prior to being a school counselor, she worked for Boys Town as a Family Consultant and then as a Crisis Counselor. While she loved my time at Boys Town, she was ready for a change, so she went back to school and graduated with her Master's in school counseling at UNO and has been working at Belle Ryan since.

As the school counselor, Mrs. Martin teaches social emotional lessons to our Kindergarten - 6th grade students once during their 10-day cycle. She's also available to meet with students in small groups or individually to work on skills such as emotional regulation, friendships, and conflict management. Requests to meet with the counselor can be made by the student themselves, their family, or their teacher.

Please feel free to reach out if she can support or answer any questions - 531-299-8267.
