I grew up in the Metro Atlanta, Georgia area. While attending high school, I discovered my love of art and teaching. This led to a degree in Art Education from Georgia State University with a degree in Art Education. After graduation, I moved to Nebraska and began teaching Art K-12 at a private school. The last five years, I taught Art and Pottery at Omaha North High School. During my years of teaching, I had the honor to teach students that won: Congressional Art Competition in 2016 for District 2, Best In Show medal winners for 2016-2017 Arts and Academics Meet, (8 Best in Show medal winners, 40 Superior winners, and 4 Excellent winners), Scholastic Art Competition, Silver Key 2019 Audubon Society Student Art Contest 2019, Meadowlark Award of Excellence and 2 Best of Show and Excellence Awards. I am looking forward to teaching at Westview High School and guiding students in Art and pottery.

Mrs. Christina Kloeckner
Mrs. Kloeckner is an Omaha Bryan High School graduate. She received her art teaching degree from Wayne State College and a Master’s of Secondary Art from University of Nebraska at Omaha . She has taught art for 17 years in Bennington, NE. Mrs. Kloeckner started as Head Coach for Unified Bowling in it’s opening year 2016. She wholeheartedly believes in the magic of Unified Sports and that every student deserves to be part of a team.

Mr. Ben Ryan
My name is Ben Ryan and I am a product of the Omaha Public Schools System having attended from grades K-12. I am a proud father to 3 children, Grant who is 14, Emersyn is 4 and Sullivan is 3. My wife Sarah and I have been married for 6 years. For the last 12 years I have taught Business and Career & Tech Ed Classes for Burke High School where I have also been an assistant football coach. For 8 of those years I was the defensive coordinator and 2 the offensive coordinator. Some of my accomplishments as a coach include being the State Championship Runners-up in 2011 and being the Undefeated State Champions in 2018. I also served as the Offensive Coordinator for the North Team in the Shrine Bowl in 2019. I look forward to laying the groundwork for the Wolverine Football Program!

Mrs. Jaimie Qaiser
Jaimie Qaiser will be joining the Westview team next year as a Business Teacher, DECA and FBLA advisor and School Store Supervisor. She’s taught at both Omaha Northwest High School and Bennington High School teaching a wide range of business courses. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing Management and Master’s Degree in Teaching. She also has experience working in the art and tech community before becoming a teacher. Mr. Kevin Myers
After 25 years of working in accounting and most of those in the insurance industry, Kevin Myers is joining the teaching profession to help prepare students for the world of business. He is a graduate of Morningside University (formerly Morningside College) where he played baseball. Kevin enjoys a variety of sports and believes in the power sports have in building a strong school culture as well as strong student relationships. He has been an assistant baseball coach at South Sioux City High School for the past 3 years, and a youth softball and basketball coach for the past 13 years. Kevin hopes to bring both a love of numbers and love of athletics to the Westview community.

Mrs. Amber Myers
Amber Myers has been teaching at South Sioux City High School for the past 15 years, where she has taught English, Education pathway, and ACT Prep courses. In addition to teaching, Amber started South Sioux City’s Educators Rising program, where she has successfully coached students at both the state and national level, and she serves on the Nebraska Educators Rising State Board. Prior to her work in education, Amber was a director at the YMCA and hopes to use this knowledge to help create strong co-curricular relationships between the Westview Y and Westview High School.
Amber spends much of her free time with her family at sporting events cheering on her two teenage daughters and looks forward to cheering for them as Westview Wolverines!

Ms. Michelle Porath
Michelle Porath graduated with honors from Concordia University, Nebraska and was a member, captain, and student coach of the dance team throughout her time there. She is currently in her first-year teaching at Omaha Northwest High School and is excited to join the Westview team as an English teacher, Academic Decathlon sponsor, and Cheer coach. She believes strongly in the beauty of words and the power in using them honestly and looks forward to continuing her career in education, learning from both her peers and her students, advocating for each individual's voice.

Ms. Shelby Schmidt
Shelby Schmidt has been teaching English and Journalism for the past eight years, exposing students to real-life educational experiences. She has a Bachelor's in English and Journalism Education and a Masters in English from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She is part of the Nebraska Writing Project Advisory Board, a member of the Nebraska High School Press Association, and a Certified Journalism Educator through Journalism Education Association. Shelby is excited about establishing a journalism program at Westview that values student voice,agency, and collaboration. The program will offer experiential learning as students create the school's newspaper, yearbook, and broadcast publications. She can't wait to share her love of learning, musicals, and her family with the rest of the Wolverine team.

Mr. Shawn Griffith
Command Sergeant Major (Ret) Shawn Griffith is a Retired Army Veteran; having served over 33 years. Upon his retirement in 2020, he became an instructor for the Omaha North High Magnet JROTC program. CSM (Ret) Griffith and his wife Barb reside in Elkhorn, they have two grown children, and two grandchildren. CSM Griffith (Ret) grew up in Omaha and is a graduate of Roncalli Catholic High School, and Bellevue University. "Our Mission in JROTC is not to convince them to join the military, it is to Motivate them to be Better Citizens. We are a leadership and citizenship class/program. We offer a variety of exciting opportunities, teams and activities for those students who take JROTC. The positive impacts JROTC can make on young people's lives, is immeasurable. Mrs. Stacy Rice
After 20 years at Omaha South High School, I am excited to turn the page and start my next chapter as a Westview Wolverine. Mr. Noah McKeever
My name is Noah McKeever, and for the last four years I have been an OPS proud employee of Omaha Northwest High School. I went to elementary school in OPS and helped name Edward Babe Gomez Heritage Elementary in Omaha. I moved to Iowa for high school and earned my bachelor’s degree from Hastings College while playing football for four years. My 5th year of college I spent time as Graduate Assistant and helped coach the secondary at Hastings College while working on my MAT in English as a Secondary Language. In my time at Northwest High School, I have taught Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1-2, Geometry, Honors Geometry, and Algebra 3-4. While at Northwest I have coached varsity football for four years. My first two years I was the Cornerbacks/Safeties varsity coach. The last two years I have been the Defensive Coordinator. I have coached baseball the last three years and have been the Reserve/Freshman Co-Head Coach. I have also helped run some of the offseason strength and conditioning programs. I believe not every student wants to learn but every student can show growth. To encourage growth in the classroom and in athletics I believe it is important to build strong and healthy relationships with students. I have been a team member of Freshman Academy for 1 year. John Hjelle will be the inaugural coach of the Wolverine Girl’s Golf Team. John is a product of Omaha Public Schools and has worked as a math and engineering teacher in the district for the past 15 years. In his 10 years as a golf coach at Omaha North, he coached a state qualifier, won multiple OPS Invites, and had a 3 ½ year undefeated dual streak. Coach Hjelle is passionate about growing the game of golf and looks forward to coaching those with and without experience. He will look to develop a culture of academic achievement, etiquette, and competitiveness in pursuit of qualifying for state as a team. John credits his father for his love of the game and is grateful he was introduced to golf at a young age. He enjoys spending time with his wife and his three young children. Ms. Taylor LuBrant
Hello, I am Miss Taylor LuBrant. I was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska. I graduated from University of Nebraska at Omaha and have worked in OPS as the Behavior Skills Program Teacher at Bryan Middle ever since. I love coming to work and doing my part to make a difference every day. I am a secondary special education teacher specializing in behavior with a focus in Applied Behavior Analysis. I have been working with students with numerous disabilities and specializing in behavior as a Paraprofessional, Registered Behavioral Technician, and a Behavior Skills Program teacher for 6 years. I am known as an advocate for ALL students from every background. My strengths are communication, empathy, and leadership. I pride myself on my ability to look at every individual student and situation from different perspectives to make the best decisions for all parties. When I am outside of school, I often go on walks around the lake or go to the dog park with my dog, Maverick. I also love to cook for friends and family.

Evan has been a Resource and BSP Special Education teacher at Omaha Central High School for the last eight years. Before that, he taught at a high school in Alaska on the Kenai Peninsula. My name is Jessica Olsen and I will be a Resource Teacher at Westview. I have been married to my husband, Matt for 17 years. I have a 12 year old son and a German Shepard. My family hosts foreign exchange students each year as well. We have had students from France and Brazil. Next year we will be welcoming a student from Spain. We live in the country outside of Blair, NE. My family enjoys all kinds of sports (soccer, baseball, basketball, hockey, etc) but soccer is our favorite. I have been with OPS for 2 years but teaching for 13 years total. I have previously taught Resource at the elementary and middle school levels, but this is my first-time teaching at the high school level. I am very excited to join the Westview staff and to help make Westview an amazing place for all students to learn and grow to their full potential.

Welcome to Westview! My name is Sara McWilliams and I am excited to be your Speech-Language Pathologist! I am originally from a small town in Nebraska. I have degrees from UNL, Tulane University, and UNO. Besides living in Omaha, I have lived in New Orleans and Washington, D.C. I have primarily worked in the medical field and I am looking forward to my second year in a high school setting. My purpose each day is to help each student accomplish their goals.
I have been married to my husband for 20 years and we have 3 children who keep us busy. We enjoy traveling, playing wiffle ball in the backyard, and movie nights. We also love to eat! In my free time, I enjoy being a CASA volunteer. I am excited for a great school year!

Mr. Jarod Meysenburg
Jarod taught Anatomy & Physiology & Human Body Systems (Project Lead the Way) during his 20 years with Omaha North High Magnet School. While at North, Jarod served as the Head Girls Track & Field Coach after working several years as an assistant coach, specializing in the long and triple jump. During that time, the girl’s teams won state titles twice and finished as the runner-up twice as well. He also was the defensive coordinator for the Omaha North football team for 20 years. The Viking football teams were state champions three times and runners-up twice. In 2014, Jarod was honored to receive the Assistant Coach of the Year award from the Metro Football Coaches Association. That same year he was selected to coach in the Nebraska Shrine Bowl. Jarod brings a high level of enthusiasm to the classroom and athletic realm. He takes tremendous pride in seeing current and former students succeed beyond high school. In his spare time Jarod enjoys golfing, fishing, and watching his children’s activities. His wife Jamee is an employee of OPS and both of Jarod’s children attend OPS schools.

Ms. LeeAnn Stover
Lee Ann Stover has been a science teacher at Burke High School for 13 years, where she has taught a variety of subjects, most recently two levels of Environmental Science. She is dual enrolled through UNO so students can earn college credits through the successful completion of the AP Environmental Science course. After obtaining a Biology degree, she worked as a biotechnologist in both Creighton University and UNMC research labs. After moving into the field of teaching science, she has since earned two graduate degrees, including MS in Secondary Science and MS as a K-12 Reading Specialist. Lee Ann has been involved in OPS Science curriculum writing for the past 10 years, supports teachers with professional development opportunities and is a veteran Service-Learning teacher. Lee Ann likes to get students out into the environment to not only learn about it, but to experience it. She is looking forward to bringing her love for science and the environment to share with the staff and students at Westview High School.

Maggie has taught 9th and 10th grade English for eight years at Omaha Central High School. In her first year of teaching at Central, she received her Master's degree in Secondary Education through the CADRE program at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. This past year, Maggie has served as her team’s leader within Freshman Academy. She is honored and excited to take on the role of Freshman Academy coordinator at Westview and to also teach Freshman Seminar. Maggie has been married to her husband Adam for almost four years and has two children, Scarlette (2) and Vince (1). Mr. Wilcox earned a degree in History Education from the @University of Northern Iowa in 2004 and later received his Master’s in Historical Studies from @Nebraska Wesleyan University. He has many years of experience teaching freshmen and is excited about the opportunity to help get Wolverines off to a successful start! Mr. Kevin Modrell
My name is Kevin Modrell, I have spent the last two years as the Lead Teacher for Omaha Home for Boys. Previous to that I spent two years serving as the Athletic Director at Omaha Mercy High School. I graduated with my bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences Education in 2010 from the University of Nebraska-Omaha, and currently hold a Masters degree in Recreation and Sports Sciences from Ohio University, and am working towards a Masters in Educational Administration through the University of Nebraska-Kearney. I have coached in various sports for the last 20 years and enjoy the impact I can make working with students to help them realize their true potential. When not in school, I enjoy spending time with my wife Christina and our two boys Koby and Riley and watching them play their sports at a very high level. Our family is crazy about sports, and we love going to watch lives games when we can, we have a family goal to hit all 30 Major League Baseball stadiums. I am excited to come to Westview High School as a Social Studies teacher and Head Wrestling Coach. Mr. Matthew Moore
My name is Matthew Moore. After graduating from Omaha Public Schools, I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in education and then my master’s degree in administration from the University of Concordia-Seward. I began my teaching career in 2015 at Monroe Middle School as a social studies teacher and coach of track and field and cross country. I also led Monroe’s African American History Challenge team. I love history, traveling, learning about others, and coaching. I look forward to taking on a social sciences position and head coaching position for track and field at Westview. When I’m not in school, I enjoy spending time with my wife, Jillian, who is a first-grade teacher, and our son, Maddox. We enjoy spending time outdoors biking and hiking and time spent traveling to new places. Our last trip was to Ireland, the United Kingdom, and Germany. We look forward to more adventures in the future as our son gets older. I am so excited about meeting the incoming students to Westview. I am grateful for my experience as a student in OPS and look forward to giving back this knowledge and experience to my student.

“I spent my life growing up in a rural farm town in Neodesha, Kansas. I always played sports as it was one of the limited extracurricular activities available. I competed in Soccer, Baseball, Basketball, Power Lifting, Track & Field, and Cross Country. I am a graduate of the Health and Physical Education department at The University of Kansas and am currently receiving my Masters in Sport Management. I played collegiate soccer for two years, and currently run track and field at Baker University as well. I started coaching with youth soccer and basketball in 2017, and my most recent coaching opportunity was as an assistant Track and Field coach at Perry-Lecompton Middle School in Kansas. I am looking forward to opening the doors of a brand-new Cross-Country program, and I am excited to move to Nebraska with my two dogs to be involved in something as special as opening a new school and building traditions that will last a lifetime!

Cammi Jager joins us from Burke High School, where she has taught Health and PE classes for 16 years. Most recently, Cammi has taught Aquatics classes, Adapted PE, Lifetime Sports, and Human Growth. She has served as Burke's Unified Track & Field coach as well as Freshman Volleyball coach. She has enjoyed working with and being inspired by mentors and new teachers in her role as mentor facilitator. "Hi! My name is Lily Lutter and I will be a 4th year teacher coming from Kearney High School. I received my associates degree from Eastern Wyoming College, where I played basketball and began studying education. I completed my bachelors degree at the University of Nebraska at Kearney where I studied Health & Physical Education. Through my college experience I found the importance of team & belonging. I am excited to share my passion for sports and lifelong health with all future Wolverines. I will be a physical education teacher as well as the Wolverine’s Girls Cross Country Coach. Mr. Scott Hodges
Coach Hodges has been with OPS for the past 23 years, as a Physical Education instructor and baseball coach. Hodges served as the head baseball coach at Central from 99 - 06 and has been at Burke the last 16 years, 11 of those as the bulldogs head coach. In 2018, the bulldogs earned an American Legion State Championship with a victory over Millard West. Coach Hodges has been married to his wife Alecia for 22 years and have 2 children, Maddy who attends GCU and Brayden a Jr at Millard South, they also have a dog named Bentley. He enjoys spending time with his granddaughter, anything competitive and watching Iowa football and basketball. He looks forward to the challenge of building the Wolverine program from the ground up and helping his student athletes reach their potential both on and off the field.

Mr. Doug Bogatz
Doug Bogatz was the Director of Instrumental Music at Fremont High School from 2016 until 2022, when he joined the Westview staff. He has experience directing he Symphonic Band, Concert Band, Jazz Bands, Orchestra, Tiger Marching Band, and Pep Band. He also teaches Music Appreciation. Previously, Doug was the Assistant Band Director at Millard West High School in Omaha and Washburn Rural High School in Topeka, Kansas. Doug holds a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a Master of Music with a concentration in Music Education from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. At UNL, he was an active member of the jazz ensembles, concert bands, Cornhusker Marching Band, Kappa Kappa Psi, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. He was also active in chamber groups such as the Westbrook Saxophone Quartet. Outside college, Doug was a member of the Colts Drum & Bugle Corps from Dubuque, Iowa. Doug is an active member of NAfME, ASCAP, NMEA, and NSBA. He has served on the NSBA Board as Public Relations Chair, and is currently Director of Auditions for NMEA. He lives in Bennington with his wife Lindsey, son Gordon, and brand new baby girl Dorthy!

Mr. Anthony Schik
Tony Schik has been a Drama Teacher and Director with OPS for 21 years. He won the Buffett Outstanding Teacher Award. Several of his productions have won Best Show at the State Thespian Festival and at the Nebraska High School Theater Academy Awards. His own written and directed play "Show and Tell" won at the State Festival and went to the International Thespian Festival. Tony has performed on multiple Omaha stages as an actor, most recently in the roles of Lennie and Boo Radley in the award-winning productions of "Of Mice & Men" and "To Kill a Mockingbird" at the Omaha Community Playhouse. He looks forward to bringing a mountain of passionate creativity to the classroom and stage at Westview and showcasing all the talents of his students. Tony's wife, Julie, is also an OPS employee. My name is Kodzo Akoto. I am a native French speaker and have a BA in Education with an endorsement in French and an MA in Education (TESOL) with an ESL endorsement. I’ve been with the Omaha Public Schools for seven years and have enjoyed spending every one of them teaching students in my French class. Hello! My name is Katie Palmquist and I have spent the last 9 years teaching in Millard Public Schools and coaching softball at Millard South High School. I graduated from Southwest Minnesota State University where I received my degree in Spanish Education and, in 2017 graduated from Peru State with my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction. A few accomplishments as a coach during my 9 years at Millard South include 8 state tournament appearances and 4 state championships. My name is Kathryn Rosinsky, and I am excited to be teaching Spanish at Westview! I have a bachelor's degree in Spanish and English from Creighton University, my master's degree in education from College of St. Mary and endorsements to teach Spanish, English and English as a Second Language (ESL). I have been teaching Spanish for 15 years, first in the Elkhorn school district and more recently at St. Stephen the Martyr. After hours, you’ll find me watching Jeopardy, cheering for the Chicago Cubs, or catching up with my four grown children who live throughout the country. I studied in Spain and have traveled there with students. I love sharing my knowledge of different cultures to help my students become the best global citizens possible.
