Benson and Bryan Highs Earn National Model Status Academy Recognition
The National Career Academy Coalition (NCAC) has recognized Benson High’s Design and Construction Academy as a Model Status Academy and Bryan High’s Urban Agriculture Academy as a Model Status Academy with Distinction.
“This esteemed recognition is a testament to the unwavering commitment of both Benson and Bryan High Schools to provide exceptional career-focused education, equipping students with the skills and knowledge to elevate expectations for their future,” NCAC shared in a media release.
NCAC recognizes schools that demonstrate exceptional commitment and success in preparing students for the workforce. Academies earn these distinctions by meeting or exceeding proficiency in all 10 areas of the National Standards of Practice.
These honors add to a number of Omaha Public Schools Academies awarded with NCAC Model Status distinctions. Previous recognitions include North High’s Engineering and Design Academy in 2022, Benson High’s Freshman Academy and Health Professions Academy in 2020 and Bryan High’s Urban Agriculture Academy in 2018. Academies maintain their NCAC certification status for four years.
