Welcome to Boyd Elementary School, home of the Beavers! We are excited to have you visit our website and share information with you about our school and all the wonderful things happening here.

Boyd Elementary School is located in the heart of the Keystone neighborhood and serves over 500 students. We currently have four classrooms at each grade level, Kindergarten through Third, three classrooms at each grade level, Fourth through Fifth. In addition, we have two Alternative Curriculum Program classrooms.

Boyd is a welcoming and safe place that provides a student-focused, challenging academic environment for your children. We strive to assist each student in reaching his or her highest potential. I take great pride in our school and am proud of the many positive experiences we are able to offer our students.

Communication between home and school is very important! We will do our best to keep you informed through our Boyd Beacon newsletter, classroom newsletters, school sign, website, and school messenger system. We value the support and input of our parents and community and encourage a cooperative partnership with the school. We will create a community of learners with the combined efforts of students, staff, parents and the community.

The staff at Boyd Elementary is dedicated, creative, and enthusiastic. They hold high expectations for students and tirelessly strive to improve student achievement.

We have an amazing PTO that aims to create memorable and meaningful experiences for our students and families. The PTO supports our academic efforts by providing resources for the school and building community by planning family events.

Mr. Johnny Lawrence

ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL

My name is Johnny Lawrence, and I am excited to be the Assistant Principal at Boyd Elementary. My journey to this position spans over twenty years with Omaha Public Schools (OPS) in various teaching and administrative roles. What you can expect from me, is someone who is committed to serving all students, who partners with parents and community members for input and support, and who will work alongside staff to maintain high academic expectations. Though there are many responsibilities that come with this position, there are none more important than ensuring that all students feel safe, welcomed and provided with a nurturing environment in which to learn.
I look forward to working with you this year and into the future.
