PRINCIPAL

Welcome to Pawnee Elementary School! I am grateful and honored for the opportunity to serve the Pawnee Elementary Community, the community in which I grew up in, graduating from Bryan High School, and now the community in which my husband and I raise our two children. I share with our families the pride of seeing our children grow and achieve to make our community even better and I am eager to connect with and collaborate with our families and community organizations to provide a whole-child approach to our children’s futures.

It is at Pawnee where I begin my third decade in serving the Omaha Public Schools. My professional history started at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a degree in English and English as a Second Language. I began my career as a middle school English teacher, going on to earn my master’s degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and soon served as a middle school administrator and athletic director. After 14 years in the secondary world, and upon having my own children, I was eager to learn about early childhood education, continuing at UNO, and serving as an assistant principal at Fontenelle Elementary and most recently at Ashland Park-Robbins. I have a personal goal to speak fluent Spanish and have been working toward this goal for the past two years, taking online classes each week.

I look forward to committing my time, energy and talents to our Pawnee community and I hope you too will reach out and connect with me. Please connect with us on Facebook and Twitter to learn more about family events and opportunities to meet with and provide input on our Pawnee goals for our children.

Mrs. Becky Todd

INSTRUCTIONAL FACILITATOR

Hi, Pawnee Cubs!  My name is Becky Todd and I have been part of Omaha Public Schools since 1997.  During this time, I have taught at Wakonda and Picotte Elementary and have been serving the students at Pawnee Elementary since 2012. I spent most of my time in the classroom teaching third or fourth grade, with two years as the Reading or Math Interventionist for our building. I have served as the Instructional Facilitator since Fall 2022.

My goal as the Instructional Facilitator at Pawnee Elementary is to foster a learning environment committed to teaching and engaging all learners.  The staff at Pawnee is amazing and is focused in fostering the whole child-academically, socially, and emotionally. Our focus is student success. For this to happen, the teachers and staff need to feel supported and that is my main job, from modeling lessons, helping with assessment data, or completing tasks teachers need done in preparation of teaching the lesson to their students.

We are proud of our commitment to our students.   The partnership between home and school is integral, and we want to continue to build that through communication and dedication to our students. We look forward to working with you as your child learns and grows this year at Pawnee Elementary.
