PRINCIPAL
Dear Wilson Focus Staff and Families:
It is my pleasure to introduce myself as principal of Wilson Focus Elementary School. I am excited to be a part of the Wilson Focus school community and to be able to support the staff, students, and families of our school. I am looking forward to getting to know each and every one of you!
My belief that students must be at the center of all school-related decisions will guide our work together. I am excited to unite my experience, my openness to learn, and my focus on growth to support our students and staff. I have worked for the Omaha Public Schools since 2000. Prior to becoming the Wilson Focus principal, I was a classroom teacher, school counselor, a Safe, Secure, and Disciplined Schools facilitator, assistant principal, summer school principal, and principal. I grew up in Omaha and attended the Omaha Public Schools kindergarten through graduation. I am eager to focus on quality instruction in every classroom, supporting the high-performing teachers, maintaining the highest expectations, and helping all students succeed.
Following high school I attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha. I hold a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education, a Master of Science Degree in Elementary School Counseling, and an endorsement in Educational Administration and Supervision.
Together, I am confident we will move Wilson Focus School and its students toward a strong future. Leadership, Technology, and Communication will be at the heart of what we do together.
Sincerely,
Briana Larsen

INSTRUCTIONAL SUPPORT
Hello, Lions!
It is a true pleasure to serve as Instructional Support here at Wilson Focus School! In this role, I partner closely with teachers to support high-quality instruction, lead professional development, and help ensure we are meeting the diverse needs of all learners. One of my key goals this year is to build a strong culture of collaboration and continuous growth. I do this by facilitating teacher learning communities, coaching classroom instruction, and supporting the implementation of effective, research-based strategies. At the heart of it all, my focus is helping every student thrive by empowering the incredible educators who work with them each day.
I began my career teaching fifth grade for eight years in a neighboring district before transitioning to serve Gifted and Talented Elementary (GATE) students in OPS. I’m a proud graduate of the University of Nebraska–Lincoln (Go Huskers!) and hold a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Peru State, a High Ability Learning certification from Midland, and a Master's in K–12 Educational Administration from Doane University.
I look forward to partnering with you to make this a successful and enriching year for all our students and families.
It’s a Great Day to be a Lion! #GDTBAL
