Student Code of Conduct
-
The Omaha Public Schools believes in a proactive, instructional approach to school discipline. Via Multi-Tiered Systems of Support for Behavior (MTSS-B) and Social-Emotional Learning (SEL), OPS staff strive to create and maintain positive school environments where students feel welcome, connected, and safe. The OPS Student Code of Conduct applies to all students attending school in the Omaha Public Schools. The Code is a tool of communication to ensure that all stakeholders are aware of behaviors that are a violation of the Code as well as the consequences that may be applied. School leaders consider a variety of factors when considering an appropriate response to misbehavior. These factors include age and developmental level of the student, the severity of the incident, and student intent. We ask that families review and discuss the Student Code of Conduct prior to the start of the school year.
