College and Career Continuum

All Omaha Public Schools students in the graduation class of 2025 and above will be offered a continuum of experiences preparing them to make informed choices for college and career. All of these experiences take place during the school day.

PreACT (This is a standardized test given at no cost to students. It will help students prepare to take the ACT, and also offers them feedback on careers and interests. ACT (This is a standardized test given at no cost to students. It is the state accountability test for all 11th graders, and is also used by some post-secondary schools as part of their admissions process. All 11th graders will take this together during the school day. Students can register to take the ACT on Saturdays if they would like additional opportunities. 11 With 11th grade classmates in the spring
Post-Secondary Application and Planning (This includes help meeting the FAFSA graduation requirement, financial aid, college application, as well as information about scholarships.) 12 Personal Finance class, Advisement class, and with school counselors
Senior Capstone (12th grade students will participate in a final project designed to help them develop a deeper understanding of themselves, including their strengths, aspirations, and personal guiding principals.) 12 With Academy/Pathway teams
